If you notice that you are unable to connect to your network-attached devices from a device that is connected to the VPN, this could be a result of having the VPN Kill Switch enabled. This article will explain why having the Kill Switch feature enabled can cause this issue as well as how to resolve the issue.
Network Isolation: When the VPN is active and the kill switch feature enabled, the device connected to the VPN is isolated from other devices on the local network to prevent data leaks. This isolation can prevent the device from accessing a wireless printer, Network Attached Storage device, AirDrop, etc.
In order to access your local network devices, you can resolve this by checking Guardian settings to determine if the Kill Switch feature is enabled and then disabling it.. his feature can be found by navigating to Guardian Settings > Advanced > VPN Kill Switch
If you are still having trouble connecting to your network devices with the VPN Kill Switch feature disabled, please contact technical support from Settings in Guardian for further assistance. Please note that Guardian is not able to make any changes to your home network and can only provide assistance relating to the Guardian App.
