Guardian Firewall + VPN will never request your specific location. This is by design due to our strict compliance with users' privacy. Instead of requesting access to location services to connect to a VPN server, Guardian relies on device system timezone in order to connect a user to the most proximate VPN node to ensure the fastest connection available. This is how the VPN chooses a server to connect the device to when you have "automatic" set as your region. You can always manually choose a different region as well.
